Statistics show 45% of children have experienced one traumatic event before they reach the age of 18. In several states one in seven children has experienced three or more traumatic events before turning 18. These children are in our classrooms with a whole range of physical, mental, emotional, and psychological effects that impact them and often play out as challenging behaviors. This course will teach you how to reframe perceptions of students’ behaviors and how to use self care and self regulation to create classrooms that are stable, consistent, and safe for students to enter and remain in learning mode.
