Michael Crow, President of Arizona State University, is famous for promoting his vision of the New American University. According to the university:

Arizona State University has developed a new model for the American research university, creating an institution that is committed to excellence, access and impact. ASU pursues research that contributes to the public good; and ASU assumes major responsibility for the economic, social and cultural vitality of the communities that surround it.

One of the eight stated aspiration of this new model is to Value Entrepreneurship.It is with that spirit that Dr. Angel Jannasch-Pennell, a former ASU Executive of the Applied Learning Technologies Institute (alt^I), based out of the iconic Skysong Innovation Center in Scottsdale, Arizona, launched an entrepreneurial  spinoff company. That company, KOI Education, was founded by Dr. Jannasch-Pennell and other ASU alumni on the principles of sharing research-based Knowledge, Outcomes, and Impact (KOI) in our community and for the public good.Like the New American University, KOI Education is committed to promoting innovation in the field of education. This innovation can be seen in the diverse Events and professional development opportunities the company offers to educators across the state and also accessible across the nation.
